United to offer Everton around £50million
Manchester United are ready to offer Everton £50million in order to land centre-back John Stones at the end of the season.
United were interested in signing the England international over the summer, but didn’t lodge a formal bid after seeing Chelsea get turned down on numerous occasions.
Whilst making several bids, Chelsea damaged their relationship with Everton and it now looks like the two won’t go into business with Stones in the future.
United Ready to land Stones
This leaves United in pole position, and according to reports, they could offer around £50m for the centre-back next summer.
Jose Mourinho was desperate to land the youngster ahead of this season, and bid as high as £40m, but all bids were turned down and Roberto Martinez was left fuming with the way the Blues handled the transfer negotiations.
Stones is still at Goodison Park, but he could be subject of a massive bid from United next summer, with some reports claiming they are ready to spend a record-breaking £50m on him.
Paris Saint-Germain spent that on David Luiz, making him the most expensive centre-back ever, and now officials at Old Trafford are ready to part ways with the same amount for Stones.
