Manchester City are set to test Everton’s resolve with a £25 million bid for centre midfielder Ross Barkley.
Barkley, aged 20 enjoyed a superb personal season for Everton, scoring six goals in 38 games for the Toffees, as they finished fifth in the Premier League.
He was also one of England’s few positives in their poor World Cup campaign out in Brazil.
Barkley has certainly proven himself on the big stage recently, and this has alerted Manchester City to his signature.
City are willing to play around £25 million to land the youngster, according to today’s Daily Mirror.
The Premier League Champions are looking to sign more English players, with several of the current crop of home grown players set to leave the club.
