The midfielder has been a long time target for Pep Guardiola

Manchester City have been outstanding this season under Pep Guardiola, winning the League Cup and the Premier League comfortably. Despite that, the manager is still keen to bolster his squad for the next season.

Since taking the reins at the Etihad Stadium, the former Barcelona boss has received considerable backing in the transfer market. They have invested heavily in the likes of John Stones, Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus, Ederson, Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy and Aymeric Laporte in the past transfer windows.

Premier League giants have been linked with a move for the likes of Leon Bailey and Riyad Mahrez ahead of the transfer window but the Spaniard is confident he can get his long time target this summer.

Manchester City are readying an €80 million bid for Real Madrid playmaker Isco, claims Mundo Deportivo.

The Spain International has struggled for regular time this season under Zinedine Zidane despite starting the season on a positive note. His fine form was hampered by injuries but after regaining fitness he has struggled for a starting spot in the team.

The 26 year old is frustrated with the lack of regular game time and complained earlier in the season he did not have the coach’s full trust.

“At Real Madrid I don’t have the kind of confidence that a footballer needs; maybe the problem is me and it’s just the way it is with the amount of good footballers there are there. Of course, I want to show Zidane I can be counted on.”

The midfielder has been heavily linked with a summer exit and it is believed that he will make a decision about his future after the World Cup is over.

Isco made just 21 La Liga starts this season scoring seven times for the La La giants.
