Manchester City eased to a 3-0 win in the Champions League tonight against Viktoria Plzen thanks to goals from Edin Dzeko, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero.
The highlight of the match was Toure’s sensational strike and Pelligrini will be delighted with his first taste of Champions League football with City.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure:
“We had the desire to win the game today. The first half was difficult but the second half was ok. I hope we can see the real City in the Champions League because the last two years were disappointing. I hope that this year is our year and, first of all, our target is to reach the second round.”
Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko:
“The first half was tricky. We had chances to score then I scored in the second half and after that it was easier for us
“I hope we’ll see the real Manchester City because the last two years were disappointing for the fans and the club. The target is going into the second round but we know it’s always difficult.
“It’s very important to get a run in the team. I think that we have a very good squad with some new players and they’ve bought a lot of quality. There are a lot of games before the end of the season so a lot of players will get a chance to play.”
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini:
“In the first half we had chances to score, but in the second half we played really well. We played with movement, we were able to create space because with 10 players behind the ball, it’s hard to score.
“We know the Champions League is very difficult and there are no easy games. The players know that and the players will try their best in every match.
“We don’t have a priority. We all know that Manchester City didn’t play well in the last Champions League but I think the Premier League is also very important.
“Winning away in the Champions League is very important. Those three points might be very important in getting to next round.”
