Manuel Pellegrini eyeing Leicester City striker
Manchester City have reportedly entered the race to sign Leicester City star Jamie Vardy.
The Foxes striker has been in sensational form this season, scoring 15 goals already in the Premier League, making him the league’s top scorer so far.
Vardy‘s impressive goalscoring record also includes his record-breaking run of most goals in consecutive games, beating Ruud Van Nistelrooy‘s long-standing record.
With Vardy in such superb form, interest in him is reportedly high, with Chelsea making him one of their top-targets for January, as Guus Hiddink eyes changes at Stamford Bridge following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.
City’s Interest
According to some reports, the champions are willing to part ways with £30million in order to sign the England international, but they could have to fend off interest from City.
Manuel Pellegrini is worried about his attacking options at the Eithad Stadium, especially with both Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko leaving before the season started.
City only have three strikers at the club, an injury-prone Sergio Aguero, Wilfried Bony and youngster Kelechi Iheanacho.
Pellegrini is ready to add depth to his attacking department, and Vardy is a name on his wishlist.
