Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea are both interested in Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, and they could snap him up for free in the Summer with the Argentine’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Cambiasso, who won the Champions League with Inter when Jose Mourinho was manager, is facing an anxious and uncertain Summer as his only chance of staying on at the San Siro is to take a pay-cut as the Italian side do not want to pay him as much as they are now.
The 33-year-old currently earns around £3.7million a year, but Inter owner Erick Thohir wants to make sure that none of his players earn more than £2.07m a year.
This leaves Cambiasso with the decision of either taking a whopping pay-cut, or walking away from the club he has been a servant for for over a decade.
