Manchester United have made Argentine international Enzo Perez won of their top January targets, having said they are ‘determined’ to sign him.
Although Chelsea are also interested, reports suggest United will bid £24.4 million for a player they were heavily linked with in the previous transfer window.
The Benfica midfielder impressed in last summer’s World Cup, spearheading the Argentina midfield in the semi-final and final.
Benfica have historically been a selling club and they reportedly need to raise funds again.
The question now is whether Perez is attracted to Louis van Gaal’s long term ‘project’.
