Manchester United eye Strootman for January

Manchester United are already preparing their options for January’s transfer window by eyeing up a deal for AS Roma midfielder, Kevin Strootman.

The Dutchman, who has previously worked closely with Louis Van Gaal on international duty for Netherlands, has been strongly linked with United for the past two seasons and once Van Gaal arrived at Old Trafford, speculation strengthened linking the midfielder with a switch.

However, Strootman suffered a serious injury earlier in the year, resulting in him missing the World Cup, and also unable to secure a Summer switch to Manchester United.

It’s believed Strootman will be returning to first-team football in the next couple of months, and Van Gaal is ready to monitor his progression and is already planning on swooping for him in January.
