Manchester United forced to move quick with Cabaye after PSG make bid

The 28-year-old has long been mooted as a potential central midfield acquisition for United given his availability for the right price.

Sky Sports News have just announced that Newcastle rejected a ÂŁ14 million bid for Cabaye from Paris St Germain and with less than seven days left in the January transfer window, Cabaye could represent the perfect midfielder to bring in some much-needed quality but United will have to move fast if we want to sign him.

Although Cabaye is not the young, long-term solution to United’s midfield problems that Moyes has been talking about, he is a Premier League proven midfielder who could provide the short-term impetus to help United secure a Champions League place this season.

At 28, Cabaye is in his prime and United could do with that sort of experience right now and I don’t think that Moyes can achieve his long-term goals without bringing in a midfielder in January, even if it is one many see a short-term fix.

The fact of the matter is that Cabaye would improve United’s midfield no end and with PSG opening the bidding at £14 million, he would certainly be available if United were to go in with a better offer for the Frenchman.
