Manchester United are preparing to make a Summer bid for Newcastle United holding-midfielder Cheick Tiote.
David Moyes is desperate to make wholesale changes to his current team due to them underperforming this season, and with Juan Mata coming in from Chelsea in January, that is believed to be the start of the overhaul.
Several players are expected to depart Old Trafford in the Summer due to them not impressing Moyes in his first season at the club, and throughout January, Moyes travelled around Europe to see some of the talent he could bring in after this season ends.
However, his current focus appears to be closer to home as he eyes Newcastle’s Tiote, a player whom he wanted during his Everton days.
According to reports, Moyes actually made an enquiry about the Ivorian in the previous window, but any potential deal never formalised, especially after The Magpies sold Yohan Cabaye to Paris Saint-Germain.
The 27-year-old is regarded as one of the best holding-midfielders in the Premier League and he may add some fight into the United team that has clearly been missing so far this season.
