Manchester United to make double La Liga move

Manchester United are planning a double raid on La Liga by making moves for FC Barcelona’s, Dani Alves, and Real Madrid’s, Pepe.

The defensive duo are high on Louis Van Gaal’s January transfer wishlist, and with both players entering the final stages of their contracts, the El Classico pair are both willing to sell up.

Alves has already told Barca that he won’t be extending his deal past this Summer, meaning he could leave them on a free in June, whilst Pepe is entering the final 18-months of his deal with Madrid officials keen to sell in order to get a substantial sum for him.

Both veterans have a wealth of experience that is needed at Old Trafford, with the majority of the season seeing youth players start at the heart of the defence, but with the January window just over a month away, Van Gaal could finally be set to make defensive reinforcements.

It’s thought that Alves could be signed on the cheap due to his contract expiring in the Summer, but United would have to splash the cash again in order to lure Pepe away from the Bernabeu.

Carlo Ancelotti is ready to sell the 31-year-old due to the development of Raphael Varane, but it’s unclear whether he wants to do business half-way through the season or not.
