Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj has ended all speculation about his future by penning a five-year deal at Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old midfielder has been stealing the headlines in the last few weeks after his match-winning brace against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, and many people were suggesting that he could be leaving club this Summer on a free transfer as his contract was set to expire.

However, United quickly moved to change that and have now rewarded him with a new long-term contract that will see him stay at the club until 2018.

“It’s a great thrill to be able to sign for Manchester United,” the Belgium-born player told the club’s website.

“It’s like a dream,” added Januzaj, who excelled in United’s youth and reserve teams after joining as a 16-year-old. “Since arriving here I have always felt like this was the right club for me.”

United boss David Moyes also revealed his excitement about keeping Januzaj on at the club.

“He is an outstanding talent,” said Moyes. “His balance, poise and ability to beat players is truly exceptional for a boy of his age.”
