Inter Milan’s latest signing, Marcelo Brozovic has revealed why he opted for a move to Inter Milan, in favour of a Premier League deal.

The 22-year-old midfielder made the switch to the San Siro from Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb on Monday, with Inter securing the deal ahead of four English sides.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool had all previously been keen on the player.

And in his first interview with Inter, he stated he opted for a switch to Italy as he preferes the Serie A league.

He said: “I’ve always wanted to play here.

“It’s a great team, with great history. I’ve never experienced such passionate fans, it’s really something special.

I’m happy to be here, and I hope I can justify the club’s investment in me. I’m very young, and I hope to improve and become a complete player in a few years.

“I’m a midfielder, I can play defensive midfield or box-to-box depending on the formation. I really like Frank Lampard and I hope to be like him.

“I love English football, but the Italian League is very fast and technical. I prefer it.

“Milan? They were interested, but I didn’t know much about it. I chose Inter because the conditions were good and there were a lot of players I knew.

“[Mateo] Kovacic? He told me he’ll always be nearby if I need any help.”
