Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik is on the verge of securing a move to China, manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed.
The Chinese transfer window is open for quite a while and there is still room for Hamsik to make a move. Negotiations are in the final phase and the Slovakian midfielder could bid goodbye to the Italian team very soon.
The 31 year old arrived from Slovan Bratislava in 2007 and has gone onto surpass
Diego Maradona as the all time leading scorer of the club. He also crossed Giuseppe Bruscolotti’s 511apparance to be the most capped player for the Naples club. A number of players recently joined the lucrative Chinese Super League with the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Yannick Carrasco and Hamsik could soon follow his footstep.
he has been handed a new deep lying role under Ancelotti and has started only 12 games this season. Ancelotti said,
“There are talks in progress and we are weighing it up together with the player
“This club has great respect for this player, he has made history here, and if we wants a new experience, we are inclined to make it happen.’
“Hamsik does not have a substitute in the squad but we have other players who interpret the role with different characteristics.”
