Fiorentina forward, Mario Gomez, has reiterated his desire not to return to the Italian Serie A club.

The Germany international is currently out on loan away from the Tuscany outfit, having scored eight goals for Turkish side, Besiktas.

His form in Istanbul has prompted the 30-year-old to attract interest from several top-tier European clubs, with Manchester United one of them.

Gomez, who played under Red Devils manager, Louis Van Gaal, at Bayern Munich, has become a prime summer target for his former manager – who is keen to resolve his attacking options.

And with Gomez somewhat reluctant to return to Italian soil in the summer after his Besiktas loan deal expires at the end of the current season, United are keen to add him to their ranks.

Speaking upon his future, Gomez said: “After two difficult years, I feel very good in Istanbul and do not want to return to Fiorentina,” the 30-year-old said.

Manchester United supporters, what do you make of the Gomez transfer speculation?
