Swansea City have been offered the chance to sign Fiorentina forward Mario Gomez, in the January transfer window, reports in Italy suggest.
The South-Wales club are on the hunt for a new striker, following the ÂŁ28 million departure of Wilfried Bony to Manchester City, on Wednesday.
However, any potential deal may collapse due to Gomez’ sky-high wages he currently collects at the Serie A club.
The former Bayern Munich striker has failed to make an impact whilst at the Florence outfit, with Fiorentina keen to move him on, after 18-months.
Swansea’s only currently recognised senior striker is Bafetimbi Gomis, while Michu is on loan at Napoli.
