Former Liverpool favourite not impressed with the Italian striker, Mario Balotelli
Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has issued a scathing verbal attack on striker Mario Balotelli.
Balotelli, aged 24, has struggled since his £16 million move from AC Milan last summer, and has come under attack from a former favourite at Anfield.
The controversial Italian international made a brief cameo appearance in the Reds’ goalless draw with Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday, with Lawrenson left un-impressed with Balotelli’s performances.
“Forget about Mario Balotelli. He is an absolute waste of time,” Lawrenson told BBC Radio 5 Live.
He shouldn’t be anywhere near this team.
“I can see why Brendan Rodgers threw him on today as he might just create something, but 99 times out of 100 he will let you down.”
