Manchester United midfielder, Marouane Fellaini, has been arrested for drink-driving, just hours after his side beat Liverpool at Old Trafford.
A statement has been released by the Greater Manchester Police saying they caught the footballer at 5:20 in the morning, when he failed a breathe test and was taking to the local police station.
However, after a second test, Fellaini was cleared and de-arrested.
The statement read: “Shortly after 5.20am on December 15 officers stopped a Mercedes.
“The driver was given a breath test and arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol.
“Following the results of a second breath test conducted in police custody the man was de-arrested.”
Fellaini did not feature in this weekend’s draw with Aston Villa.
