Chelsea and Manchester United both want centre-back
Paris Saint-Germain star Marquinhos has admitted he’s flattered by the interest shown in him by Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Brazilian centre-back has been strongly linked with a move away from PSG in recent months, with the Blues having two formal bids turned down on Transfer Deadline Day over the summer.
Since then, Marquinhos has struggled for first-team football in Paris due to the partnership of Thiago Silva and David Luiz.
With game-time a real issue, the 22-year-old has already admitted he’s keeping his options open, and he’s now revealed that he’s flattered by the interest shown in him by the Premier League duo.
Flattered
“It’s a pleasure,” Marquinhos said. “It means that I work well.
“Like everyone else, I always want to be a part of the starting line-up. But we all must respect the choices of the coach and management.
“I will continue to work to get my place. But it’s true there will come a moment where I am older. You cannot just get used to sitting on the bench.
“There are six months left for PSG to win titles. After that, we’ll see what happens.”
