Manager lauds Reece James as among the world’s best
Mauricio Pochettino heaped praise on Chelsea’s emerging star, Reece James, in a recent evaluation. Despite struggling with fitness this season, James, who is now captaining the Blues, maintains an important player at Stamford Bridge.

“And now when you touch and feel it up close you say, ‘Wow, what an amazing player.’ And I think he is a player that everyone respects in the club, the teammates, the staff, everyone. And I think he has a very good personality.
“From outside he was always a player that I liked, but now I think we are close. I cannot say I’m in love because you can misconstrue my words. But I think you know, he’s unbelievable.”
The impact of James on Chelsea’s performance is clear, with the team going undefeated in the three league games he started this season against Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester City.
The strong and assertive defender not only builds up the backline but also greatly contributes to the team’s offensive brilliance.
