Mauro Icardi has spoken to Atletico Madrid about a potential move to Spain but he is likely to stay at Inter, according to his wife.
Chelsea and Tottenham have both been keen on the forward and have been contemplating moves for him but as of yet, both sides have only registered an interest and no official bid has been made.
However, a club that has made an official approach for the player is Atletico Madrid.
According to Icardi’s wife – who is also his agent – Inter held talks with the Spanish club last week over a potential move and several other sides have also been interested in signing him.
But, she also claimed that Icardi loves Inter and that the club means a lot to him – meaning that rather than leave the club he cares so much about, he once again might decide to stay in Serie A.
Loyal to Inter Milan
He even stayed at the club last year despite the fact they weren’t competing in the Champions League and despite a lot of renewed interest in him, he might choose to stay at Inter again.
Atletico Madrid though are obviously still keen on a deal for him and with their continued success in Europe, he might decide to finally leave Italy and make the move to Spain to play Champions League football.
Chelsea and Tottenham are two more options but, as previously mentioned, no concrete move has yet been made by either side.
