Everton are demanding ÂŁ65m for the striker and it has resulted in a lack of interest in the Belgian

Romelu Lukaku could end up staying at Everton this summer, with most interested teams currently being put off a deal for the striker because of his huge price-tag.

According to reports, Everton are demanding ÂŁ65m for the forward and are only willing to let him go if that fee is met. With the asking price being so large, it has resulted in several interested teams like Chelsea deciding not to make a move for the Belgian.

The Blues could certainly afford the fee that the Toffees are asking for but the Blues themselves do not believe they should pay so much for a player they originally sold on to Everton themselves.

If Everton aren’t careful though, this could end up as a similar scenario to the Saido Berahino case at West Brom – Lukaku reportedly wants to leave Goodison Park in search of more trophies according to his agent and he was looking for a move away this summer.

Koeman wants to work with Lukaku

If the Toffees scare off any potential suitors with this price-tag – meaning the striker has to stay at the club – it could result in their star man becoming unhappy unless new boss Ronald Koeman deals with the situation well.

Koeman has spoke about the forward and about how he would love to keep Lukaku and work with him at the club next year and the new boss might get his wish if the asking price for the player isn’t lowered substantially.

However, if the player begins to push harder for a move away, then Everton will have no choice but to lower their demands and sell him onto another team. So far though, it looks like the Belgian might end up staying in Merseyside.
