Depay claims no talks have took place over proposed move.

The Dutchman starred for Van Gaal’s side at last summer’s World Cup and has been sought after ever since.

Depay first signed for PSV in 2006 but only made his way up and in to the first team in 2011, but his breakthrough season came in 2013/14, scoring 14 goals and earning himself a place in Van Gaal’s World Cup squad.

The 21-year-old came back from after a successful World Cup and and started this season impressively, the Dutchman has so far scored 26 goals in 37 goals this season.

After such an impressive season, talk of move to some of Europe’s top clubs is always going to come along, as so it has…

It has been widely reported that the forward held talks with Manchester United last week, but it is now thought that Liverpool flew him in for talks on Tuesday.

The Eredivisie top scorer has since denied meeting bosses at United and insists that he is still unsure as to where his footballing future lies.

Memphis Depay said: “I know nothing myself so I have nothing to say,”

“Otherwise I wouldn’t say this”

“Of course I’m looking at beautiful leagues. And then it’s always nice if clubs are interested. But I don’t want to say anything about that.”

“We’ll see how things go.”

It had seemed that PSV manager Phillip Cocu had given it away when he wouldn’t deny the rumours about discussions between Depay and United.

Cocu said: “I can’t say that there hasn’t been a meeting between Depay and United,”

“But I can’t confirm it as well.”

Louis Van Gaal

The United manager tried to play down all talk of the move at this week press conference: “I don’t discuss it with the media.”

“I have lot of relationships with players. I can’t buy all the players I’ve coached.”
