Mikel Arteta thinks Manchester City have the best players in the world.
The Premier League champions are scheduled to open their campaign against Lyon at the Etihad stadium on Wednesday and are tipped to be one of the favourites for the Champions League title.
Arteta attended the pre match press conference in the absence of Pep Guardiola. The Spanish gaffer is serving a European game ban and will be in the stand when his side takes on the French club.
City lifted the Premier League title last season but failed to replicate their success in the Champions League as couldn’t get past a jubilant Liverpool side in the quarter final. Guardiola would be hoping to rectify their mistakes this season as they kick start their European campaign.
The City assistant manager said, “For me we have the best players in the world and I look at our players as if they are the best, “For me we have the best players in the world and I look at our players as if they are the best,
“I wouldn’t change my players for any others. They are absolutely fantastic, the hunger in this group is incredible
“People talk about money to spend but people have to look inside this club, what we have created, it’s phenomenal.”
