Coach Mikel Arteta encourages Arsenal to end losing streak against Manchester City

Arsenal’s head coach, Mikel Arteta, has issued an ultimatum ahead of their Premier League showdown against Manchester City at the Emirates on Sunday. The Gunners haven’t beaten City in the league since 2015, and a defeat on Sunday would extend their losing streak to 13 games.

While addressing the challenge, Arteta mentioned that his team had successfully overcome winless streaks against other opponents in recent times, and he challenged his players to show the same resilience and drive against City.

Arteta stated. “When I came here I think it was 18 years at Old Trafford, 17 years at Stamford Bridge and we have since done it, so lets change it,”

“My only worry is the quality of the opponent and that’s unquestionable and on Sunday we have to be at our best for 100 minutes. That’s what we can control and we need to focus.

“In these big games you need big players with talent who make it count. Duels are a big thing in a game which can go one way or another.”

Arteta also praised Arsenal’s recent signing, Declan Rice, for his quick adaption to the team after joining from West Ham during the summer transfer window. Rice, worth £105 million, has made major contributions, especially scoring the game-winning goal in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Manchester United in September.

Looking ahead to the game, Arteta expressed confidence in his defenders’ ability to contain Erling Haaland. Haaland had failed to score when Arsenal defeated City in the Community Shield in August. Arteta praised Arsenal’s defensive line’s aggressiveness, stating that they have the physicality and resilience needed to overcome Haaland’s strong offensive ability.

The atmosphere is set for a high-stakes match on Sunday, with Arteta’s Arsenal looking to make an impact by ending their losing streak against Manchester City as well as proving their superiority on the pitch.
