Mirallas going nowhere

In recent weeks, Everton’s Belgian winger has been linked with a move to Tottenham and Merseyside rivals Liverpool.

Asked about the topic, Everton Manager Roberto Martinez responded quite confidently.

“There’s no danger, no,” Martinez said.

Mirallas has 18 months left on his current contract and the Toffees are keen to tie him down to a longer deal, although Martinez says there is no update.

“Kevin is focusing on his football, he’s under contract. That’s the latest,” he added.

“We always work behind the scene to see if we can extend the relationship. We have been working with Kevin for a long time. In that situation he is quite happy where he is.”

Joel Robles, Luke Garbutt, Bryan Oviedo, Christian Atsu and Arouna Kone are all set to feature in Everton’s Europa league match against Krasnador on Thursday night after the Toffees secured their place as group winners in the previous European game.

“There will be a few other younger players involved but I want them to have a good night of sleep so won’t reveal who.” Said Martinez

“It will also be a great chance for Arouna. I cannot describe the excitement of having him back to full fitness. He’s been so unfortunate with injuries. He’s desperate to play and is looking forward to the game.”

“Arouna’s different from Samuel Eto’o and Romelu Lukaku and he’s different from the other options we have so it will be a chance for him.”
