Mkhitaryan set for Dortmund exit

Brenden Rodgers looked to land the former Shakhtar Donetsk man during the summer of 2013 but the playmaker opted to join Jurgen Klopp’s men in a £24m deal.

Mkhitaryan impressed during his first season with Dortmund, scoring 13 goals in 45 games as the side clinched a second place finish only to European champions Bayern Munich.

However Dortmund have had a shocking start to this Bundesliga campaign and find themselves bottom, with Mkhitaryan showing little promise in front of goal, leading speculation that the midfielder could be set for an exit in January.

Liverpool have also had a less then impressive start to this season, with consistent goal-scoring a problem at Anfield, so Rodgers may look to take Mkhitaryan off Klopp’s hands either on a permanent or temporary deal.
