Manchester City boss scoops Manager of the Month as Ayew takes Player of the Month
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has won the Manager of the Month award for August, while Andrew Ayew has taken home the Player of the Month award for Swansea City during his debut month.
Pellegrini has guided his side to four wins from the first four Premier League games, including a 3-0 victory over last year’s champions Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.
City sit top of the tree on 12-points, and are already building a gap over title-rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.
Pellegrini beat the likes of; Alan Pardew, Garry Monk and Claudio Ranieri to the monthly award.
Player of the Month
As for the Player of the Month, Ayew has taken home the gong for a stand-out debut month in England.
The Ghanaian has scored three goals during his opening month, including a goal at Stamford Bridge and a goal against Manchester United.
The 25-year-old has hit the ground running at the Liberty Stadium and has helped the Swans to an unbeaten start to the campaign.
Ayew fended off team-mate Bafetimbi Gomis, Manchester City duo David Silva and Aleksandar Kolarov, as well as Leicester City‘s Riyad Mahrez and Chris Smalling from Manchester United.
