Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho, has kept his cards close to his chest and has been reluctant to confirm whether Chelsea have signed forward, Diego Costa, from Atletico Madrid.
Reports suggest that Chelsea have sealed a £32 million pound deal, with Costa set to earn £200,000 a week at Stamford Bridge. But in a recent interview, Mourinho was unwilling to confirm or deny that any deal had been struck, but admitted that Costa is a target for the club.
‘The market is closed. It opens in the summer,’ he said. ‘Chelsea will be calm and quiet during that period, we are not going to be the noisy team buying and selling and selling and buying.
‘We are going to do a couple of critical signings.‘Is he [Costa] a striker a target for us? Yes, we never denied that. Is Diego a good player? He is but he is an Atletico Madrid player, so we cannot say much.’ said the manager.
Costa, who knocked out Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday, has scored 27 goals in La Liga this season, with his current club, Atletico Madrid two wins away from winning the title.
