Manchester United star confirms that he has rejected contract offer

Jose Mourinho claims Marouane Fellaini wants to extend his contract with Manchester United.

The Belgium international’s current deal expires at the end of the season. And he is already free to negotiate with teams outside the Premier League. Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen on the 30-year-old. Mourinho has stressed that the midfielder knows he is still wanted at Old Trafford.

“He is a very important player for me, he’s been a great professional giving everything to help the team,” said the United manager.

‘There’s a desire from myself, the board and the player to stay together, that’s our objective. Are we going to reach, are we going to agree? I don’t know. What I know is myself, the board and the player we would like to have a happy end.

“I’m happy with his contribution, he’s been a great professional for us, and I know he wants to stay with us, that is very important, he knows that I want him and the club want him, I think this is also important for him.

“Then there is a paper to sign and you only sign when you’re happy with what is written on the paper, so let’s see if that is possible.”
