Ferhat Cogalan could become United player
Manchester United have edged ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign Valencia wonderkid Ferhat Cogalan.
United are in pole position to sign the Turkish teenager ahead of lots of European giants. Bayern Munich, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, as well as Arsenal, are all interested.
Cogalan, along with his father and agent, travelled to Manchester to meet with the club’s representatives, according to Spanish media.
Cogalan, 14, is not old enough to sign a professional contract, therefore the offer will be a youth deal to join their academy.
His father, Sedat, confirmed United’s proposal but insists they aren’t in any rush to leave Valencia.
He told French newspaper La Voix Du Nord: “We’re in no hurry because Ferhat is in contract with Valencia until 2021.
“But when a club like Manchester United invites us, it is logical that we study the proposal, right?”
Though Cogalan is contracted until 2021, his training deal can’t prevent rival clubs from poaching the talented youngster.
