Winger was linked with move away after Pedro arrival

The Chelsea boss has insisted no deal between Chelsea and Juventus has been discussed for Willian.

Chelsea winger Willian has been speculated to be leaving Stamford Bridge as part of a swap deal for Juventus star Paul Pogba.

The Blues‘ attacking options have been bolstered with the arrival of Pedro from Barcelona, announced just days ago, but Jose Mourinho has confirmed that just because Pedro has arrived, it doesn’t mean the club will be selling Willian.

Willian Not Leaving

“Players are different and Willian does things Pedro doesn’t,” he said.

“One of the biggest lies of the market is when I read that we want to sell Willian, or that other clubs want him. Maybe they do, but they won’t get him.”

Pedro Praise

Mourinho then went on to praise new signing Pedro and his attitude: “For many years he won everything playing with Messi, Iniesta, all these stars, but he wants more and I’m really happy with that attitude. Pedro is a player we like a lot and we are happy to have him.

“He has amazing respect and from the way he speaks (you can tell) he loves Iniesta, Messi, Neymar and these guys he’s played with for all these years, but this is a moment for him to enjoy a different life, a different step, a different challenge.

“It’s a chance for him to leave his comfort zone and come to a new club, new country, new culture, so I’m really happy with his approach.”
