Tottenham Hotspur announce Belgian has signed long-term contract

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have announced Mousa Dembele has signed a new long-term contract at White Hart Lane, keeping him at the club until 2019.

The powerhouse midfielder has been in North London since 2012, after completing a transfer from Fulham, and he stamped his mark on Spurs immediately, scoring in his debut against Norwich City.

Although the Belgian fell down the pecking order in recent seasons, he has found a new leash of life this season under Mauricio Pochettino, and he’s been a crucial part of the Argentine’s plans.

Dembele has made 143 appearances for Spurs since his arrival, and he’s now set to extend his stay for a further three years.

Dembele Ends Speculation

Speculation had been rife about Dembele’s future, with reports claiming he was set for a switch to Serie A side Napoli, but those reports have now been squashed.

He was also a shock transfer target for Chelsea.
