Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has recently explained why he does his dancing celebration, in an interview with Match of the Day Magazine.

The England international, who scored on his return to the Liverpool set up in Saturday’s 2-0 win over West Ham, revealed that he only performs his dance routine as his favourite celebration could see him gain a yellow card.

The 25-year-old is expected to make his first start of the season in Wednesday’s FA Cup fourth round replay away at Bolton Wanderers, having made his comeback as a substitute on Saturday, following a long-term injury.

In an interview with Match of the Day Magazine, the returning striker revealed why he does his chosen dance: ‘I don’t need to work on that, it comes naturally! I might switch it up, though.

‘Back in the day the best celebration was the shirt over the head, but now that’s a yellow card – that’s how this one started.

‘It’s been a long time and I was just desperate to get back out there and help my team win some games – that’s really the most important thing for me.

‘It’s the worst experience – watching from the sidelines when you’re a player.

‘But it helps you mentally and I feel like I’ve improved as a person. I’m enjoying it more and I’m just happy to be back playing.’

Interesting stuff!
