Chelsea are set to offer Nemanja Matic a new contract worth around £4.8m-a-year.
The Serbian has been superb for The Blues this season, anchoring the midfield and allowing others like Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard and Oscar to free-roam ahead of him, and the league leaders want to reward the midfielder by offering him a new bumper deal.
The 26-year-old has been in deep talks with Chelsea in recent weeks, and according to reports, he will now put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal worth around £93k-a-week.
The new contract will see Matic earn a £30k-a-week pay-rise and will see him remain at Stamford Bridge until 2020.
Matic’s Chelsea career has been quite the ride after he was initially sold to Benfica as part of the David Luiz deal, but they then agreed to re-sign the midfielder for £21million last Summer.
