New Casillas hope for Arsenal

Arsenal’s hopes of signing Iker Casillas have been raised again, with Real Madrid eyeing up a move for Jan Oblak. A Bola is claiming that Oblak, who currently plays for Benfica, could make the move to the Bernabeu if Casillas decides to end his time at the club.

The Spanish keeper failed to take the number one spot off Diego Lopez last season for Real Madrid and with Arsene Wenger after a new goalkeeper, a move may be back on the cards. The Gunners have also looked into moves for Cardiff’s David Marshall and Colombia keeper David Ospina.

33-year old Casillas’ journalist partner, Sara Carbonero, has previously denied claims that he is about to swap Spain for England, telling El Mundo: “I expect my future to be in Madrid, which is where I am now.”

However, with Real Madrid looking at potential other goalkeepers and with Diego Lopez already holding the number one spot, could Casillas be about to exit the club?
