Newcastle need Kalvin Phillips in place of Sandro Tonali.

Newcastle United are planning a potential loan deal for Man City midfielder Kalvin Phillips. The Englishman is likely to leave the club in 2024 after not finding regular time at Etihad. Pep Guardiola is not considering Phillips in his plan.

The 28-year-old made the move to Man City from Leeds United in 2022. He has played only two matches in his debut season. He made only 10 competitive appearances this season.

Kalvin Phillips wants to play regular football so he can secure his place in the England squad for Euro 2024 which is scheduled in the next summer in Germany.

As per fresh report, Phillips had been made a priority target by Newcastle ahead of the winter transfer window. Juventus are also planning a deal for him. Magpies are confident to get him on board.

Newcastle need a solid midfielder in place of Sandro Tonali who is currently serving a 10-month ban for breaching Italian betting regulations.
