Following France’s exit form the World Cup, it is believed that Mathieu Debuchy of Newcatsle will take the place of Bacary Sagna in the right-back position for Arsenal.

Although nothing has been agreed yet, the deal is expected to be completed within the week and although many Newcastle fans used the #ThanksDebuchy to praise their defender, some fans were less than complimentary about the Frenchman’s services.

@Texas_Toon

Don’t let the door hit you on the arse on the way out #thanksdebuchy

 @SamwiseHampson

#ThanksDebuchy?! Is this a joke? If we thank all the good players who’ve been average for us then we’ll be here all night.

@JJFletcher7

Why is there a hashtag #ThanksDebuchy? What we thanking him for like? Half a good season and crying once Cabaye left?! Let him go man! #NUFC

@CharlieMilne1

#ThanksDebuchy for several good performances, giving away various penalties and lasting less time than my phone contract

@Zanda451

#ThanksDebuchy for not being able to defend in the derbies. From Sunderland fans 🙂 xoxoxox

Debuchy may not have been everyone’s cup of tea, the Frenchman will certainly come of use to the Gunners as they look to sure up their defense ahead of another title push next campaign.
