Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has ruled out signing Real Madrid defensive midfielder Sami Khedira this transfer window.

Pundits and fans alike have often seen that one of Arsenal’s main weaknesses is the lack of an experienced holding midfielder to protect the back four.

However, Wenger obviously sees different as he has confirmed they won’t be signing an obvious perfect fit in the German World Cup winner, Khedira.

After a 2-0 victory away to Champions Manchester City, Wenger addressed questions about signing a holding midfielder.

The French manager said: “Having to find solutions internally is a blessing and at the moment it works well.”

Wenger was referring to Francis Coquelin, who had a solid game at the Etihad. Gunners fans will be wondering if Coquelin can continue with similar performances on a consistent basis, in order to back up his boss’ comments.
