Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo hails his side’s performance after they knocked out Liverpool from the FA Cup.

Raul Jimenez opened the scoring for the home side as James Milner lost the possession to concede a silly goal. Divock Origi fired home to restore parity but he quickly saw his team lagging behind with Ruben Neves scoring a scorcher to make it 2-1 for the newly promoted side.

The Reds have now suffered consecutive defeats following their 2-1 loss at the hands of Manchester  City in the Premier League. Wolves are likely to face the winner of the Shrewsbury Town and Stoke City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Nuno said, “It was a good performance, a tough game.

“We had good counter-attacks and when we had possession we had possession. It was a very good performance.

“In the first half we were very good and in the second half we got the reaction we wanted when we lost a goal almost immediately. In general, I think it was a very good game.”

“It’s something that Ruben does and we encourage him to do,

“Last season, we saw it pretty often. We know he has this talent. It was a good strike. It’s something he has to improve.

“It was such a beautiful goal. Molineux came alive again. I am very proud against a very good team. How we did it was good. Now we need to do it again.”
