Juventus have confirmed the signing of Roma left-back Luca Pellegrini in a swap deal that sees Juve’s Leonardo Spinazzola going the other way.

Pellegrini has signed a four-year contract with Juventus and his transfer fee was €22 million which is payable in three financial years. Spinazzola’s transfer fee was a bit higher at €29 million which is payable in three financial years.

Pellegrini barely had any playing time for Roma during the 2018-19 season, making just 6 appearances. He was loaned to Cagliari in January for the remainder of the season. For Cagliari, Pellegrini made 12 appearances. Pellegrini has represented Italy in several youth levels. He was a part of the Italy squad that came 4th in the recently concluded FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland. Pellegrini played 6 of Italy’s 7 matches, providing an assist in their tournament opener against Mexico.

Pellegrini has proven himself to be a very talented left-back and he is the ideal backup for Alex Sandro.
