“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that an agreement with Lille Olympique Sporting
Club for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Tiago Emanuel Embaló Djalo has been reached for a consideration of € 3.6 million, payable in three installments in 2024/2025 financial year, with the addition of ancillary costs of € 1.5 million,” reads the official note
“Furthermore, bonuses up to a maximum of € 2.6 million are envisaged upon achievement of agreed sporting objectives and/or conditions.
“Juventus and the player have signed a contract of employment until 30 June 2026.”
The transfer, executed at a savvy cost of 3.6 million euros payable in three installments, demonstrates Juventus’ shrewd negotiation skills. Additionally, Lille stands to gain 2.6 million euros in bonuses based on specific conditions.
Contrary to expectations of a lengthy contract until 2028, Djalo has inked a two-and-a-half-year agreement, extending until 2026. This decision raises eyebrows but aligns with Juventus’ strategic planning.
However, the young defender’s immediate contribution on the field remains uncertain, given a challenging recovery journey.
Djalo, formerly with Sporting and Milan, suffered a severe ACL injury sidelining him since March. Despite this setback, recent medical tests indicate a promising path to full recovery.
As Juventus fans eagerly await Djalo’s return to the pitch, the club’s successful acquisition signals a calculated investment in emerging defensive prowess.
