Alvaro Morata is officially set to leave Chelsea for Atletico Madrid.
The former Real Madrid ace is set for a return to Spain after a tumultuous season and a half at the west London club.
Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata is set to leave Chelsea for Atletico Madrid after a torrid time at the west London club. The player left Real Madrid last season in the summer to join the Blues but was not able to make a mark with them in the last season and a half. According to Goal.com, the player has agreed to personal terms with the Spanish outfit and is set to arrive at the club on a six-month loan deal. The report also says that at the end of the loan stint, Atletico Madrid can exercise the option to buy the player for £48.5 million.
Morata’s departure comes as a result of Gonzalo Higuain’s arrival at the west London club for the next six months from AC Milan. The striker, who moved to the Milan club on loan from Juventus, will be the one to lead the line for the Blues, who has faced a lot of problem in the last season and a half to find a top quality striker to score goals for them. The Argentine marksman has been one of the most favourite players of current Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri, who has played a huge role behind his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
