MLS side Orlando City FC have confirmed that they have signed former Manchester United winger Nani on a free transfer from Sporting CP. The Portuguese winger has joined the club as a designated player on a three-year-long deal.
Orlando City FC confirmed the transfer news on their official website. Orlando City SC EVP of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi said, “This is an exciting day for our organization. Nani brings tremendous experience to our roster. He’s a dynamic winger with quality abilities to move and cross the ball, impact games and lead the offensive play.”
Nani, who is now 32 years old, started off his senior career with Sporting CP in 2005. The player moved to Manchester United in 2007 for €25.5 million to play alongside his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo. Nani won the Champions League in the year 2008 with the Red Devils. Apart from that, he also won four Premier League titles and two League Cups with Manchester United under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson.
In 2014, the Portuguese international returned to Sporting CP on loan from Manchester United. Since 2015, the player has represented an array of clubs in the form of Fenerbahçe, Valencia and Lazio and was plying his trade with Sporting after making a permanent return to the club last season.
