Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku who will sign a five-year contract with the club.

Lukaku is the club’s record signing with his transfer costing the club a reported €77 million which is above €30 million more than the transfer of Christian Vieri from Lazio in 1999.

The Belgian international previously played for Anderlecht, Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion, Everton and Manchester United. He had a poor 18/19 season, netting only 15 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions.

Lukaku is Belgium’s all-time top scorer with 48 goals in 81 matches. He has scored 31 goals in his last 30 international appearances.

Upon joining the club, the Belgian striker said as quoted by Inter’s official website: “”Inter were the only club I wanted, because Inter is Not For Everyone. I’m here to bring the Nerazzurri back to the top.”

By joining the Nerazzurri, Lukaku will play under Antonio Conte who wanted to sign him when he used to manage Chelsea.

Lukaku will be a valuable addition to the squad and could well be the player who could help Inter Milan win the 2019/20 Serie A.
