Olivier Giroud has made it clear he has no intention of leaving Chelsea rather he will try to break into Maurizio Sarri’s first team setup.
Antonio Conte’s search for a target man got fulfilled as Giroud moved from one part of the London to other. But the French man hasn’t been able to cement his place in the Chelsea starting lineup.
Competition between him and Alvaro Morata has been pretty fierce this season. Giroud’s link up play has earned praise while Morata has managed to found the net quite regularly off late.
Giroud has been linked with a exit in the January transfer window but the World Cup winner wants to continue his journey at the Stamford Bridge. “I feel like it is as if we are where we were several months ago when I was being asked the same questions before the World Cup,
“Today, I am calm, happy with this World Cup title. I relativise a lot of things.
“I don’t need to put myself under more pressure than that. Of course, I am a competitor and I would like more playing time.”
“But I am in a very big club, with very big players. I am going to fight and for the moment, it is not a question about seeking a departure. I am going to stick in there and do not count on me to give up.”
