Fabian Delph believes this crop of Englan players can achieve major heights in future.
On the back of a successful World Cup, the Three Lions maintained their steady graph of excellence by reaching the last four of the UEFA Nations League. England staged a stunning comeback to defeat Croatia 2-1 to seal a place in the last four.
Gareth Southgate has instilled a free flowing attacking mentality since he took over the charge and the English side are clearly reaping the dividends. They have been on a giant killing spree as after taming Spain they got the better of Croatia in a crucial clash in the Nations League at the Wembley stadium.
Delph himself has been a crucial part of the fantastic journey and feels this team has the potential to break every records. “It was amazing.
“We’ve been speaking about it in the dressing room, it’s been an amazing 12-18 months – we’ve come a long way.
“(Sunday) was a great result for us, especially after coming up short in the World Cup.
“You always look at those games and think ‘if we get the opportunity to play that team again, hopefully we can put it right’ and I felt like we did that today
“Thinking about it now, I am glad (we went behind) because it has shown a lot of character.
“We’ve got more than enough in the dressing room to win the game, so going a goal behind we didn’t panic.
“We’ve developed, everybody seems to be following and going in the same direction and the sky is the limit for this group of players because they’re still so young and they’ve still got plenty of time to develop.”
