Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has revealed that he should be fit in time for the Champions League game against Marseille after he picked up a knock against Sunderland on Saturday.

Fans of Arsenal were left fearing the worst when their only recognised striker got substituted late on during their 3-1 victory over The Black Cats because of a knee injury, but now it appears that they have nothing to worry about.

After the game, Arsene Wenger, seem pretty worried about the fitness of his only striker and said that it’s a big worry that he could be injured, but the man that has scored in every Premier League game so far has confirmed that he should be fit for the clash with the French side.

Giroud said: ‘It is not bad actually, not as bad as I first feared. I got a kick earlier in the game but no-one was near me when I did it this time.

‘I tried to connect with the ball a little bit too early and I caught my foot in the grass. I twisted my ankle but fortunately,  it is nothing major.

‘I am OK, sure I will be fine [for Marseille].’
