According to reports in Belgium, Divock Origi has signed a five-year contract with Liverpool after passing his medical on Friday.

As part of the deal, the 19-year-old will return to his original Ligue 1 side Lille for the next year before returning to the Reds the following season.

The forward netted five times for the French club in his debut season and the transfer fee is thought to be in the region of ÂŁ10m.

Confirmation of the deal is still yet to be announced by the Merseyside club but Origi is expected to be back at Lille’s training ground by Monday.

Spanish reports from Marca claimed that Atletico Madrid were looking to hijack the deal and sign the young Belgian, however last year’s league runners up have managed toi complete the deal with little complications.

Origi featured numerous times for Belgium during their World Cup campaign earlier this summer and scored to help his country win 1-0 against Russia.

The forward would add to the long list of Liverpool signings this summer such as Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic.
