Chelsea look unstoppable right now. Stunning in every department. Six points clear at the top of their domestic table, and already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League. An awesome start. And it’s not even Christmas.
Attacking midfielder Oscar, has gone on record as to the reasons why. The Brazilian suggests that three summer signings are responsible for the Blues formidable form; Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis.
‘Last season the team was very good but this year we are a bit better,’ the Brazilian said. ‘Cesc has come, Diego and also Filipe.
‘We’ve been playing so well, everybody has been playing so well.
‘We have such a strong team and in every game we try to be compact in order to win the match. We need to control the games.
‘The manager wants us to stay confident but not too much because that can be dangerous. He tells the attacking players to score goals and enjoy our football but when we don’t have the ball we have to defend as a team.’
Jose Morinho has not only built a fortress at Stamford Bridge, but also a force that will be revered amongst the European elite. Having not won a trophy in season 2013/14, the chance of Chelsea repeating that failure seems minimal. The immediate future looks bright in West London.
